Amazonite

Amazonite is a type of microcline or silicate of potassium and aluminum. It is usually light green to a bluish green often with a crisscross pattern of light colored lines. This semi-opaque material has a hardness of 6.

Originally mined from the Amazon River area of Brazil, amazonite is now mined in the US, Madagascar, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Australia, and Russia. It is usually carved into many different shapes or cut into spheres and cabs.
